Best known for his work in magazine covers, Mr. Rockwell first presented a western character named 'Luke' on the front cover of the Aug. 13, 1927 Saturday Evening Post. Pure Prairie League adopted the character for their LP covers, which appear to be Mr. Rockwell's work except for later releases, which are attributed to 'G. Gross'.
